Fiat conquest the world - Marchionne is the Chrysler chief
| | ||
| Sergio Marchionne, the chief executive of Fiat Group, has said he will also become chief executive of Chrysler once it emerges from bankruptcy protection. The troubled US automaker filed for bankruptcy last week. Fiat is taking an initial 20% stake in Chrysler, part of Mr Marchionne's plan to create a global automotive giant. Fiat is also eyeing the foreign operations of General Motors, including its Opel and Vauxhall marques in Europe and its Latin American operations. Taking the lead Chrysler's current chief executive Bob Nardelli will stay in his job during the bankruptcy proceedings, which are expected to last until late June. Marchionne said"Chrysler is on track to re-emerge from bankruptcy in 60 days," "I will become Chrysler CEO after that." Six of Chrysler's new board of directors will be appointed by the US government, with Fiat naming the remaining three members. A chairman has yet to be named. My opinion is that is General Motors made the same things to Fiat in 1997. American people and mass media have't the habitude too see a similar operation. And also nobody know Marchionne, that maybe is the best manager in the world. | ||

Roman Abramovich lost yacht in poker
Russian billionaire and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich lost one of the yachts in his sizeable personal fleet in a game of poker, Russian newspapers reported on Monday, prompting a strong denial from the oligarch.
"The story is absolutely, completely, entirely false," Abramovich spokesman John Mann told AFP after three Russian daily newspapers published versions of the story that originated in the Italian press.
The popular daily Moskovsky Komsomelets said the oligarch lost the 500,000-dollar yacht while playing poker in Barcelona, which he was visiting to watch Chelsea in action.
The newspaper did not provide the name of the yacht or name the source of its information.
Two other mass-cirulation Russian dailies, Izvestia and Trud, also published the story, citing the Italian newspaper La Repubblica as the source of the information.
Mann said Abramovich had not been in Barcelona for the Chelsea match and asserted that the entire story was a fabrication.
"We have instructed our lawyers to examine legal action" over publication of the story, he said.
Abramovich's yacht collection, thought to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
The Russian newspaper said his poker habit had become a sore point between him and girlfriend Daria Zhukova and that the billionaire, who made his fortune in Russia's sell-off of state assets in the 1990s, had instead turned to gambling online.

Briton Ben Southall wins 'dream job' as caretaker on tropical island off Australia
Ben Southall beat nearly 35,000 applicants from around the world for the six-month dream assignment.
He will be required to swim, explore and relax on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef while writing a blog to promote the area.
Sixteen finalists spent the past four days on the island for an extended interview process, which involved snorkelling through crystalline waters, strolling along white sand beaches and relaxing at a spa.
The job is part of an £800,000 tourism campaign to publicise the charms of north-eastern Queensland state.
Southall starts work on July 1.
Also I send my C.V. , but they rejected me. :-)
