Briton Ben Southall wins 'dream job' as caretaker on tropical island off Australia
A bungee jumping, scuba diving British charity worker has been named as the winner of what has been dubbed the "Best Job in the World" - a £73,400 contract to serve as the caretaker of a tropical Australian island.
Ben Southall beat nearly 35,000 applicants from around the world for the six-month dream assignment.
He will be required to swim, explore and relax on Hamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef while writing a blog to promote the area.
Sixteen finalists spent the past four days on the island for an extended interview process, which involved snorkelling through crystalline waters, strolling along white sand beaches and relaxing at a spa.
The job is part of an £800,000 tourism campaign to publicise the charms of north-eastern Queensland state.
Southall starts work on July 1.
Also I send my C.V. , but they rejected me. :-)
